About

Hello, I'm Toyin

Editing and publishing has been my trade for more than two decades. Leading worship and teaching Scripture has been my calling for just as long.

I was born and raised in Nigeria and have called the UK home since the 1990s; today I live in the North East of England with my family. In 2011 I began writing Meditations from the Psalms, a devotional project that grew alongside my publishing work and my life in gospel ministry. I'm an ordained pastor, the author of the novel Treasured Possession, and the founder of The Heritage Publishers — a UK-based publishing house I built to give Christian, inspirational, and leadership authors the same editorial care a top trade publisher would give their book.

Alongside publishing, I direct gospel choirs and teach the Word — two decades of shaping voices for worship and unpacking Scripture for congregations, women's ministries, and outreach events. I directed Kingsland Community Gospel Choir in London from 2011, then CO13 Gospel Voices in Frinton-on-Sea from 2016, until I moved to the North East in 2021, where I founded and now direct Bethany Gospel Voices in Houghton le Spring. Every choir I've led has been a non-audition community choir — open to anyone who wants to sing, no experience required — and Bethany Gospel Voices actively supports local churches and takes part in community events right across the North East of England. I've also served as a Tour Associate for the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association's God Loves You Tour twice in London and once in Sheffield.

I believe a well-edited page and a well-led song do the same work: they carry people through hardship into truth. That conviction shapes every manuscript I edit and every rehearsal I lead.

"A book and a song can both carry someone through a hard season — my work is making sure both are ready to bear that weight."
What I Do

Five ways I work with people of the Word.

Publishing and ministry sit side by side in my work — each one sharpening the other.

01

Publishing & Editorial

Developmental editing, ghostwriting, proofreading, cover design and typesetting through The Heritage Publishers — for Christian fiction, inspirational writing, and leadership books.

02

Author & Devotional Writer

Novelist and devotional writer — Treasured Possession and Meditations from the Psalms, plus features for Maryland Women of Worship and FaithWriters.

03

Gospel Choir Direction

Directing non-audition community gospel choirs since 2011 — open to anyone who wants to sing — with vocal coaching, arranging, and worship sets for the local church.

04

Bible Teaching & Preaching

Ordained pastor and devotional teacher, bringing Scripture to congregations, women's ministries, and study groups.

05

Ministry & Outreach

Mobilising pastors and congregations for citywide outreach as a Tour Associate for the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association's God Loves You Tour — twice in London and once in Sheffield.

Selected Work

Four chapters of the work so far.

The challenge, my role, and what came of it — across publishing, writing, and ministry.

Chapter One

Founding The Heritage Publishers

The Challenge

Christian and inspirational authors often struggle to find editors who understand both craft and faith — who can take a manuscript from rough draft to a book that competes on a bookstore shelf.

My Role

Founder & Lead Editor, The Heritage Publishers.

The Outcome

20+ years and 40+ titles edited and published across fiction, non-fiction, inspirational works, poetry, devotionals, leadership books and law journals, for authors across the UK and internationally.

Chapter Two

Writing Treasured Possession & Meditations from the Psalms

The Challenge

Putting deep biblical truth into language that meets readers exactly where hardship, doubt, or waiting on God finds them.

My Role

Author.

The Outcome

Published the novel Treasured Possession and the devotional collection Meditations from the Psalms; writing featured by Maryland Women of Worship and on FaithWriters.

Chapter Three

God Loves You Tour — London & Sheffield

The Challenge

Uniting pastors and congregations across a region — many still weary after the pandemic — behind a single citywide evangelistic outreach with the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association.

My Role

Tour Associate, serving two London Tours and the Sheffield Tour.

The Outcome

Encouraged local pastors to commit, helped build momentum toward each event, and watched, in her own words, churches "enter the kingdom of God" together as the Tour reached each city.

Chapter Four

Directing Gospel Choirs Since 2011

The Challenge

Building and sustaining a non-audition, open-to-all community gospel choir that leads people into authentic worship week after week, turning willing newcomers into a confident, unified sound — then doing it again from scratch in a new region.

My Role

Choir Director — Kingsland Community Gospel Choir, London (2011–2016); CO13 Gospel Voices, Frinton-on-Sea (2016–2021); and Founder & Director of Bethany Gospel Voices, Houghton le Spring (2021–present).

The Outcome

Three non-audition community gospel choirs built and led across three regions of England, welcoming anyone who wants to sing regardless of experience. Bethany Gospel Voices now actively supports local churches and takes part in community events across the North East of England, carrying congregations and communities through both praise and lament.
